Serious Collision – Investigation cont’d

(Wikwemikong, ON) – On November 20, 2022, at 12:30 p.m. Wikwemikong Tribal Police received a report in relation to a motor vehicle collision involving two vehicles on Kaboni Road in the Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory.  Information received was that four passengers sustained injuries in a two-vehicle collision.  Manitoulin- Sudbury Ambulance Services arrived on scene to provide medical assistance. A 24-year-old male, a 26-year-old female sustained injuries and were transported to the Manitoulin Health Centre, Little Current, ON.  An infant child who sustained life-threatening injuries was transported to the Ottawa Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario via Air Orange.

The Wikwemikong Tribal Police and OPP, Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit are investigating the collision which is ongoing. 

WTPS are requesting anyone that may have dash cam or video surveillance of the collision to please contact the Wikwemikong Tribal Police at 705-859-3141. 

The Wikwemikong Tribal Police would like to remind motorist to drive according to the road conditions.
